Educational objectives:

                The course serves a double purpose. On the one hand, it is designed to aid foreign students studying in Hungary acquire the basics of Hungarian necessary for everyday ’survival’ in a Hungarian environment (CEFR A1-A2 levels), on the other hand, the cultural, i.e. Hungarian studies, module provides them with an insight into the present and the past of Hungary, Hungarian people and their culture. Both the linguistic and the Hungarian studies modules have short-term and long-term goals because the knowledge and skills gained in this course will enable students to integrate among the citizens of the university more easily, and in the long run they may serve as a useful basis and point of orientation for future professional, business or scientific relationships involving Hungary or Hungarians.

Mode of evaluation:       Midterm requirements: active participation in the classes, written tests.

 End-of-term mark: based on participation in the classes, written tests.
